‘DWTS’ Vet Cheryl Burke, Songwriter Paul Williams Among 2022 Friendly House Awards Honorees
Set for Saturday at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, the 32nd annual Friendly House luncheon will honor Oscar-winning music guru Paul Williams (Person of the Year), entertainment attorney Dina LaPolt (Visionary Award), Dancing With the Stars vet Cheryl Burke (Shining Star Award), and Dr. Carolyn Coker Ross (Excellence in Service Award).
The event will also pay tribute to Carrie White, celebrity hairstylist and author. A Friendly House scholarship will be dedicated in her honor. The program will also feature Eve Nelson and Lisa Loeb, while Caroline Rhea will host.
Williams is a lyricist, composer, and has been honored with an Oscar, multiple Grammys and two Golden Globes. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Williams is the president and chairman of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He has a long list of credits, including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” the “You and Me Against the World” song, “The Rainbow Connection,” and the theme from “A Star is Born .”
LaPolt, named one of THR’s top music attorneys earlier this year, is founder and owner of LaPolt Law. Perhaps her most well-known role is on Dancing With the Stars .. Coker Ross is a graduate of The University of Michigan Medical School and serves as the CEO of AnchorProgram, an online non-diet program for people with binge eating disorder, emotional food eating, or food addiction.
