Elon Musk Reveals Twitter Will Roll Out a New Feature Many Users Want

Elon Musk continues reaching out to Twitter users directly to get feedback about his newly acquired platform.

Chief Twit, a billionaire and billionaire, focused his attention on those who only consume the content but don’t contribute. These so-called “doom scrollers” were politely encouraged to get involved.

” I meet so many people who use twitter every day, but almost never tweet,” he wrote. “If you will allow me to beg for your indulgence, I would appreciate your participation in the public dialogue. “

I meet many people who check twitter every day but rarely tweet.

If you will allow me to ask for your indulgence, please join the public dialogue!

Musk has reason to be concerned. According to a study done in 2021, around 25% of Twitter users in the U.S. produce around 97% of all tweets.

His plea to be more active on the platform received nearly 85,000 responses, but he honed in on one in particular from a Twitter user named Rocket_Medic who, perhaps channeling hundreds of thousands of others in the Twitterverse, wrote:

“I reply a lot…no one reads my tweets. “

Musk asked Rocket_Medic if he knew about Twitter Analytics. This can be accessed by clicking the graph icon at bottom right of all tweets. This feature allows you to see how many people have retweeted, liked and responded to each tweet.

Musk told Medic that he shouldn’t be bothered by the low reply rate since that’s not the metric that really matters. “Those who read tweets outnumber those who reply/retweet/like tweets by over 1000%,” Musk wrote. At this point, Musk announced a new feature that has not been publicly discussed.

Twitter is soon to display tweet reach metrics in the top of all tweets, just as they do for video views.

Twitter will start showing view count for all tweets, just as view count is shown for all videos. The system is far more alive that it seems.

Musk ghosted?

The reaction to Musk’s announcement seemed mostly positive, with over 15,000 likes. One user was not convinced.

@JamieHutchens4 replied:

“My Tweets get zero reactions. That’s what I believe is true for most people. There is no feeling of being unimportant if there are no reactions. This is why many people don’t tweet. Most people don’t realize this is why they don’t tweet. “

To which Musk replied: “How many views do your tweets get? “

At press-time, @JamieHutchens4 had not yet responded to Musk’s question.

Ironically, his tweet has been liked over 10,000 times, with nearly 800 replies.
