Google Chrome’s new search function will help you keep tabs on your tabs

Google updates its browser regularly with new features and functions. The most recent upgrade concerns search: Not just the web, but your tabs and bookmarks as well as browsing history.

Although it was possible to search for queries like these before, it’s much easier to do now. All you have to do is use the address bar at top of Google Chrome interface.

These enhancements are available in version 108 Google Chrome for Desktop. If you don’t have it yet, you might need to upgrade your browser. To check if Chrome is the latest version, click the three dots at top right. Then go to Help And Google Chrome.

Google Chrome allows you to search through all your tabs

It’s obvious that your browser’s number of tabs can quickly grow out of control. It’s possible to have several websites open at once, but not be able to remember where it is. With so many tabs open, the headers are reduced to tiny spaces, making it difficult to find the page you want.

Tab search is a great tool for this. Type out @tabs In the address bar, hit SpaceEnter your search terms. You can use keywords that you would find in the website title such as “Popular Science” and “Gmail” since this feature doesn’t allow you to search for entire pages. Click on the right result to bring Chrome to that tab.

Although this feature is new, you can search tabs in Chrome without using the @tabs prefix. Just type what you are looking for in the search bar. This approach has a drawback: results from open tabs will be mixed with results from the web and browsing history. You’ll need to filter your search results.

Google Chrome allows you to search through your bookmarks

Many of us depend on it. Bookmarks Chrome comes with a robust system to help you track your steps on the web. You can organize web links in folders or pin them to your browser toolbar. It can be difficult to keep track, just like with tabs.

It’s now easier than ever to search through your bookmarks. Type @bookmarks Tap the tap and in the address bar Space To search all bookmarks in your browser, The list of webpage titles matching your query will then be displayed. To jump to any result, click on it.

You can still search through your bookmarks using Google Chrome in the old way. Click the three dots in the top right corner and then choose Bookmarks And Bookmark Manager. Chrome will open a new tab. At the top of that screen you’ll see a search field you can use to browse through all the bookmarks you have accumulated over time.

Google Chrome allows you to search your browsing history

It can be very useful to be able to trace our steps on the internet. Google Chrome logs every website that you visit by default. You can disable this feature permanently if you feel this is more creepy than helpful. Google Account (Alternatively, you can temporarily open an incognito browser.

Chrome’s new search function also covers browsing history. Click on the address bar and type @history Tap Space To search through all pages you have visited in the past, run a search. You might get a lot of results, so be specific.

Chrome has had a browser history search feature for a long time. It’s still available, but it’s not as easy to find as the new address bar search option. Click on the three dots in the top right to locate it. Then, choose Histories And Histories again. Chrome will open a new tab that contains your browsing history. You can use the search box at top to search for pages or scroll through the list. Chrome recently made this possible. More intuitiveIt’s actually much easier than it appears.

This will default query Google, but you can change the search engine by going to Chrome Settings (click on the three dots at the top right corner). You can also improve the quality and relevance of your search results by using a site-specific search. Add your key terms to the search box as usual. site: Enter the URL that you wish to query. You would type, for example, “Popular Science” to view all stories that mention Google Chrome. Google Chrome site:popsci.com. You may never need to go back to the Google search page again.
