John Oliver gave his opinion on the information from the Jan. 6 House Committee hearings.

He began by noting that John Eastman, a former lawyer who advised then-President Donald Trump during a deadly insurrection at U.S. Capitol, had suggested that Mike Pence could reverse the results of November 2020 elections.

Oliver displayed a clip of Eric Herschmann, a former White House lawyer, recalling his reaction.

” I said, “Hold on a second. I want to hear what you are saying. You believe that the vice president acting as president can decide who becomes the next president. ‘” Herschmann recalled. “And he said yes. “And he said yes. ‘”

Said Oliver You can say it now, just as you did it then. Because he was suggesting that you were crazy. The idea that one person can elect the president of the United States is completely contrary to the ideals of the country. This is why the Constitution begins with ‘We the People’, not ‘Mike. ‘”

Oliver continued to point out that more than 100 Republican primary winner back Trump’s claims for election fraud, including a few candidates for Secretary-of-State, which Oliver called “concerning” because they could be in a position “to directly influence the next Presidential election .”

Oliver referred to Jim Marchant who was a Republican candidate for Secretary-of-State in Nevada. He said in a forum that “the people in Nevada have not elected anyone since 2006..” They have been installed by the deep-state cabal .”

Said Oliver: “Wow. Since 2006., Nevada’s citizens have not elected anyone legally. That is a pretty bold claim, especially coming from the guy who himself was elected to the State Assembly there in 2016.”

Oliver pointed out that one of the candidates in the America First Secretary of State Coalition includes New Mexico’s Audrey Trujillo. Trujillo stated: “A lot of people feel that this election has been stolen .”

Said Oliver, “Whether or not we can prove it? Audrey, that’s a big loophole. While we all believe many things that we can’t prove, we shouldn’t base our major life decisions .”

Oliver also showed a clip featuring Kristina Karmo, who is running in Michigan for Secretary of State. She’s accused Democrats of having a “satanic Agenda .”

” “Obviously Democrats don’t believe in a satanic agenda because that would require them to have an agenda,” Oliver joked.
