Len Goodman Exiting ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Dancing With the Stars HTML3_judge Len Goodman has said goodbye to the ballroom contest series.

Goodman announced Monday that this season would be his last as a judge.

“This will be my final season as a judge on Dancing with the Stars .. Since its beginning in 2005, I have been with the show and it has been a great pleasure to be part of such an amazing show. Goodman stated that he has decided to spend more time with his grandchildren and his family back home in Britain. “I cannot thank you enough for Dancing with the Stars family. It was a wonderful experience.

Goodman’s announcement was followed by a standing ovation.

“You have inspired generations of dancers all over the world through your passion, your expertise, and your laser-focused eye. They will continue that tradition of excellence forever. We are grateful. Tyra Banks called Tyra a living legend.

Since the debut of ABC’s ballroom contest in 2005., Goodman has been the celebrity judge. He has been judging alongside fellow DWTS judges Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough joined later as a judge.

Before DWTS , Goodman had been a head judge for Strictly come Dancing , the U.K. original version of Dancing with the Stars . He has also been a judge at the British and World Championships.

Goodman was recognized for his dancing accomplishments, winning multiple awards, including the British Exhibition and the runner up in the Exhibition World Championships. Other awards include the British Rising Star Award and the Carl Allen Award.

Goodman also runs Goodman Dance Academy, a long-running dance school located in Kent, England.
